TNL International is looking to fill a full-time permanent position for a skilled and experienced Import/Export Coordinator to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the logistics of importing and exporting goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating smooth international transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency and success of our global operations.

In addition to coordinating shipments, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with international partners, ensuring that services meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing strategies to enhance our logistics operations. Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an import/export or logistics role.
  • Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.

In this role your main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of import and export operations across air, sea, and land freight.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.

·      Handling coordination for international shipments by reviewing and analyzing country-specific regulations for exporting goods, to ensure company adherence to same, including communicating with overseas agents, booking cargo space, and generating export declarations.

  • Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.

·      Consulting with customers, airlines, shipping lines, transport, warehousing, and international agents, to schedule shipments in accordance with contractual commitments and customer requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor shipment schedules, track shipments, and resolve any issues related to delays or discrepancies.

·      Sourcing and negotiating rates and costs from shipping lines, co-loaders, and transport companies to generate quotations for both export and import shipments and creating an auto rating system in Cargowise for invoicing purposes.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize supply chain processes and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively updating customers on any issues that occur and sending booking confirmations to the shipper and pre-alerts to overseas agents.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve import/export procedures and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Keeping  track of changes in import/export regulations and advising management of any issues and challenges experienced with the service providers on a weekly basis.

  • Strong CargoWise system knowledge & experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
