Salary: $80-$85K per annum
We are looking to hire an outgoing and proactive individual, with previous Managerial experience to work as part of our Management team, in our large city-based Backpacker Hostel working full time paid $80k to $85k plus super. .
Selection Criteria
• Previous hostel or hotel administrative and leadership experience
• Excellent customer service, communication and relationship building skills
• General reception administrative duties
• Organizational and team management ability
• Experience with the Microsoft Suite, Guest Centrix (CMS Hospitality-booking system), STAAH (channel manager) and back end Online Travel Agents (Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia).
• Reservation Management and an understanding of OTA policies and procedures
• Capability to provide guidance, support and leadership to all employees
• Confidant training new employees
• Comfortable liaising with 3rd party contractors and suppliers
• Understanding Occupational Health and Safety and previous experience with Fire Evacuation procedures
• Ability to work weekends, night shifts and public holidays
Duties & Responsibilities (includes) :
· Ensuring the smooth day to day running of the property in accordance with Company policies
· Maintaining the high standard of the accommodation and facilities
· Providing a high standard of customer service
· Maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and employees
· Recruiting, training and team building
· Reconcile and submit weekly invoices
· Daily banking, rosters and payroll. Rostering within budgeted guidelines.
· Be point of contact for all online travel agent account managers
· Basic inventory and revenue management
· Managing group bookings
· Willingness to participate in local marketing initiatives
· Ensuring KPI's are met, including Occupancy and Revenue
· Managing handovers to maintenance / housekeeping / auditors and liaising with the hostel
· manager to rectify these issues as soon as possible
· Conflict resolution. Preventing and dealing with guest issues should they arise
· (Booking/Building issues etc.)
· Organize and execute activities and special events. Record duties, expenses, challenges,
· successes and areas for improvement for each event for replication

· We require someone with experience in a hostel or hotel with a manager background.
· We use CMS Hospitality (GuestCentrix) property management software, so if you know you way around CMS, shout about this in your application.
· The job is 5 shifts per week, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
Skills required
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 2 years of closely related experience.
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
