Job Description:Client is seeking a Web Developer in the IT Division. This position will be reporting to the Website Coordinator and joining a highly dynamic and results oriented team. This position will be a key resource in providing enhancements and security for multiple WordPress applications. Work will support highway safety, emergency messaging, lead acquisition as well as several public outreach programs.

Required Skills:

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field;
• Considerable software implementation experience
• Proficiency in PHP
• Understanding of WordPress architecture
• Understanding of SQL
• Understanding of REST API
• Ability to work as team member on web development projects end-to-end
• Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of secure coding practices
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field
• Outstanding communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Working across the full stack, building, maintaining and optimizing scalable, distributed features and solutions that enable positive user experiences across desktop and mobile
• Developing new features in support of business and project requirements
• Managing vendor support as needed for maintenance and enhancement
• Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
