Web Developer (PHP)

DataStaff, Inc. is in need of a Web Developer (PHP) for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA. *This position is hybrid; 4 days will be onsiteThis position will be reporting to the Website Coordinator and joining a highly dynamic and results oriented team. This position will be a key resource in providing enhancements and security for multiple WordPress applications. Work will support highway safety, emergency messaging, lead acquisition as well as several public outreach programs. Responsibilities:

  • Working across the full stack, building, maintaining and optimizing scalable, distributed features and solutions that enable positive user experiences across desktop and mobile
  • Developing new features in support of business and project requirements
  • Managing vendor support as needed for maintenance and enhancement
  • Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities

Required Skills:

  • 5 Years - Considerable software implementation experience
  • 5 Years - Proficiency in PHP
  • 5 Years - Understanding of WordPress architecture
  • 5 Years - Understanding of SQL
  • 5 Years - Understanding of REST API
  • 5 Years - Ability to work as team member on web development projects end-to-end
  • 5 Years - Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles
  • 5 Years - Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 5 Years - Knowledge of secure coding practices
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor s degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field
  • Outstanding communication skills

This opportunity is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position with a competitive benefits package.
