Job Duties :
- Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in engines and components.
- Disassemble and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts, then inspect each component.
- Repairing or replacing worn or damaged parts, reassembling mechanical components, and consulting service manuals as necessary.
- Performing routine maintenance, such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with emission standards.
- Reassembling engines and components after repairs.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Using computers to assist in diagnosing and testing components.
- May inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or outline necessary repairs for compliance.
- May respond to vehicle breakdown calls for on-site service.
Skill required & well versed with:
Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding how engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other vehicle components work.
Use of Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerized testing devices.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Knowledge of working with fluid-powered systems for brakes, steering, and suspension.
Fault Diagnosis: Ability to accurately identify mechanical or electrical issues through observation, testing, and the use of diagnostic software.
Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of safety regulations and practices to ensure both personal safety and that of others in the workshop.
Qualification: Minimum education should be - Certificate IV in Automotive or higher.
Experience Requirement: You should have at least 2 years of full-time experience.
