Job description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Leader in the field of Medicolegal to join our dynamic organisation.
• As a Quality Assurance Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy in medicolegal reports.
• You will play a critical role in upholding compliance with state legislation, AMA guidelines, and permanent impairment regulations.
• The successful candidate must possess an in-depth understanding of the Australian healthcare system, legal frameworks, and quality assurance practices in medicolegal reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the quality assurance process for medicolegal reports, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation, guidelines, and regulations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of medicolegal reports.
• Stay up-to-date with state legislation, AMA guidelines, and permanent impairment regulations, and ensure compliance across all reports.
• Conduct regular audits of medicolegal reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with medical professionals, legal experts, and other stake holders to establish and maintain standardised protocols and best practices for medicolegal reporting.
• Provide guidance and support to a team of medicolegal professionals, ensuring their understanding of quality assurance requirements and facilitating ongoing training and development.
• Act as a subject matter expert in quality assurance methodologies and best practices related to medicolegal reports.
Choose assessment:
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and legal organizations, to ensure alignment and compliance with industry standards.
• Analyse data and generate reports on quality assurance metrics, highlighting trends and recommending process improvements to enhance overall performance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as medicine, law or healthcare administration. A higher degree would be advantageous.
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) working in a quality assurance role with in the medicolegal field, preferably in Australia.
• Comprehensive knowledge of state legislation, AMA guidelines, and permanent impairment regulations relevant to medicolegal reports.
• Strong understanding of the Australian health care system, medio-legal frameworks, and ethical considerations in medicolegal reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing quality control measures, protocols, and training programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting, using relevant software tools.
• Professional certifications or memberships related to quality assurance, medicolegal, or relevant fields would be highly regarded.
• Additional knowledge/experience in the following areas would be advantageous.
• Listen and comprehend recorded patient physician interactions, develop an impression about the clinical condition and document clinical history, examination findings & plan of action.
• Create highly structured (literally medical text-book style) clinical notes, summarize findings and insights with sections such as history of present illness, review of systems, physical examination, assessment details, treatment plan etc.
• Populate the summarised data in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Maintain clinical note quality using documentation norms and physician preferences
• Understand and maintain desired level of clinical knowledge based on assigned speciality.
• Review edits made by the provider before approving the clinical note and work collaboratively with training and quality to improve the provider experience, share best practices and help create a knowledge repository to capture tacit knowledge.
• Knowledge in medicolegal quality assurance-Transcriptions made from court proceedings, dictated notes, recorded depositions, and many other sources of legal record.
• Requires an in-depth understanding of medical record sandterminology. Applicant must be able to read medical records, understand, analyse and prepare medical records summaries for requesting attorneys. Applicant would compile medical chronologies and medical summaries to support the litigation process and ensure we have all the pertinent medical records, medical literature and information to help support our cases.
