Our projects include a bespoke Learning Management System (LMS) for Registered Training Organizations (RTOs) and an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to streamline our own business processes.

Job Description: As the Accountant at Educube Pty Ltd, you will take ownership of critical financial functions, ensuring all transactions are managed accurately and align with compliance requirements. This role involves working closely with our finance and operations teams to establish and maintain robust financial systems. You will be responsible for monthly and yearly financial close processes, budgeting, forecasting, tax filing, and supporting our technological projects, such as the LMS and ERP systems. This is an opportunity for an individual with both technical accounting skills and strategic insight to contribute to a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in shaping budgetary and accounting policies that align with Educube’s operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Compile and prepare financial statements for presentation to Educube's leadership, board members, shareholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead financial investigations and prepare reports to aid in audits, providing insights on transactions related to business acquisitions, mergers, capital financing, fraud detection, insolvency, and tax matters.
  • Examine Educube’s operating costs, income, and expenditures to ensure sound financial health and resource efficiency.
  • Provide assurance on the accuracy of financial information in reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on business structures, financial plans, and operations, ensuring tax efficiency and compliance for Educube’s projects and services.
  • Manage and prepare tax returns for both individuals within the company and Educube as an organisation, ensuring timely submissions and compliance.
  • Work with financial institutions and brokers to set up and manage fund arrangements to support Educube’s projects and financial goals.
  • Introduce and maintain efficient accounting systems, offering guidance on selecting and using computer-based systems that support Educube’s growth and technology initiatives.
  • Strengthen and oversee internal control systems to protect company assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
  • Assess cash flow and financial risks associated with capital investments, providing insights on financial stability for Educube’s technology and educational services projects.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally within the education, technology, or professional services sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software such as MYOB, QuickBooks, or Xero, as well as Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, particularly in finance-related functions, is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in Australia.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
