Position: Mechanical Technician

Salary: $73,500 to $75,000

Our client Seno Engineering (Australia) Pty Ltd is independently owned engineering consultancy and mechanical service provider, specialised in delivering end-to-end Engineering Design, Construction Management and Mechanical services in building, wastewater, FMCG, food & beverage manufacturing.

The client is looking for full-time permanent positions for skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join this highly skilled and innovative team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must hold an AQF qualification (Certificate IV in Engineering or comparable formal

training).

• International qualifications or Australian qualifications obtained outside the Australian

• Recognition of Learning process must be supported by 5 years of full-time post-

qualification experience.

• Minimum of 5 years industry relevant experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance services and repair tasks for mechanical systems, machinery, and

equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Conduct inspections of production facilities to identify damage, defects, or inefficiencies

caused by corrosion, wear and tear, or leaks, ensuring timely interventions.

• Install, calibrate, and maintain monitoring systems and devices to oversee production facility

operations and identify potential improvements.

• Assist in the design, assembly, and installation of production facilities, equipment, and

mechanical systems, ensuring they meet engineering specifications and industry standards.

• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and increase the lifespan of

mechanical components, machinery, and systems.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults or malfunctions, determining the most effective solutions and arranging for repairs or replacements when necessary.

Position Description

• Collaborate with engineers to modify existing equipment and systems to improve efficiency,

functionality, and safety.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for maintenance activities, equipment

inspections, repairs, and modifications.

• Provide technical support to engineers and production teams by interpreting drawings,

manuals, and technical specifications.

• Test and commission new installations to ensure compliance with operational requirements,

safety regulations, and quality standards.

• Assist in developing maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures, ensuring adherence to

industry best practices and manufacturers' recommendations.

• Monitor the performance of production facilities, analyzing data to identify areas for

improvement or optimization.

• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a

strong focus on safe work practices and reducing risks.

• Supervise and train apprentices or junior technicians, sharing knowledge and fostering a

skilled workforce.

• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of essential components for repairs

and maintenance activities.

• Support the development of project cost estimates and resource planning for mechanical

installations and repairs.

• Report operational issues, incidents, or anomalies promptly to supervisors, providing detailed

information for resolution.

Skills and attributes:

• Proven hands-on experience in an engineering environment, including maintenance, repair,

and installation of mechanical systems.

• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and

general arrangement drawings.

• Proficient in using mechanical design software (e.g., CAD) and other engineering applications.

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills for troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical

issues efficiently.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in high-compliance,

process-driven environments.

• Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with

standards and regulations.

• Strong computer literacy, including expertise in diagnostic tools and software for

troubleshooting mechanical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and specifications, including for

mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fire systems.
