NanoCube Health P/L is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work on a novel project focused on cancer diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage advanced Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to improve analytical capabilities.
- Collect data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness by performing data cleansing to remove errors and inconsistencies, and transforming it into a format suitable for analysis or reporting.
- Contribute to maintaining data integrity by conducting audits and providing support, including resolving discrepancies.
- Apply statistical techniques to uncover significant patterns and trends, and conduct exploratory data analysis to identify critical insights.
- Collaborate with a range of stakeholders internally with NanoCube Health and externally with our industry, cancer peak body, and research partners.
- Contribute to overall project management, including timeline planning, effective communication and coordination with team members, risk assessment and management, resource management, and ensuring the successful execution of the research project to an exemplary standard in collaboration with the research team and industry partner.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A postgraduate degree (preferably research based) in a relevant field such as Statistics, Business, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 1 year work experience in the below:
- Experience in statistical analysis, data visualisation, and algorithmic testing. This includes tools such as ANOVA, SPSS, and regression analysis.
- Experience in the use of charts, graphs, and software like MATLAB, R, or Python to represent data trends and patterns.
- Experience in Thematic Analysis and/or Case Study Analysis.
- Experience in handling large datasets using tools like Hadoop, Spark, or machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of Interdisciplinary Techniques, combining bioinformatics with computational biology.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to analyse, understand, and solve problems, while generating valuable insights to support and guide decision-making.
- Exceptional reporting and dashboard development capabilities, with experience in the health/medical device industry considered a plus.
- Excellent project management and other administrative skills.
