Web Designer/Developer


This is a direct hire position, 100% on site in Buena Park, salary is up to $80k/year. Looking for someone with strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript experience with strong back end knowledge in C#.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Web Designer designs, develops, and maintains responsive websites and web applications, ensuring seamless functionality and visually compelling user experiences. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams and departments to translate project requirements into clean, efficient code while integrating backend systems (e.g., databases, APIs) to support front-end interfaces. Additional responsibilities involve graphic design duties such as creating marketing collateral, social media assets, icons, and branding materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates custom websites using theme frameworks with custom HTML/CSS; builds sites using WordPress CMS and other platforms as appropriate.
  • Identifies and suggests appropriate design concepts or website themes.
  • Optimizes custom graphic elements and iconography as required by project to meet the standards of today's devices.
  • Sources or creates related imagery/graphics to create the project's story in a compelling and impactful way.
  • Modifies PHP templates as needed; understands the structure and correct way to modify within WordPress.
  • Applies a creative eye and UX awareness to projects.
  • Engages with other departments to assess projects, needs, and timelines.
  • Participates in planning meetings/conference calls as necessary.
  • Tracks time and project progress through organization's available tools.
  • Develops site content and graphics; coordinates with copywriters and graphic artists to achieve results.
  • Designs website's visual imagery; ensures alignment with company branding policy.
  • Installs web domains and SSL certificates.
  • Troubleshoots web issues using Chrome developers tool and other technologies.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
  • In-office work 5 days a week at the assigned branch office.
  • English speaking during an emergency and while performing job duties where there is potential for an emergency. This does not apply to casual conversations between employees while not performing a job duty.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares special reports, as needed.
  • Assists in miscellaneous duties within the department.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by complying with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

  • Senior Web Designer/General Manager

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED):

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend languages (ASP.net, C#, PHP, Python, Ruby, or similar)
  • Experience using CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal) and frameworks (React, Node.js)
  • A strong portfolio showcasing web design, backend projects, and graphic design work
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and responsive design principles is a plus.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

EDUCATION

  • 4-year Computer Science/Graphic Arts Degree or equivalent professional experience.
