Sebring Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Mermaid Beach, QLD. This is a full-time role, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a professional and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful candidate will have a strong background in automotive mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
· Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts;
· Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts;
· Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed;
· Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations;
· Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired;
· Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance;
· Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers;
· Inspecting vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness; and
· Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls as required.
Key Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
· AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3);
· At least one year of experience as a Motor Mechanic;
· Extensive knowledge of, and experience working with Japanese and European vehicles;
· Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
· Proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment;
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently;
· Good communication and teamwork skills;
· Competence using workshop software Program;
· A valid driver’s license; and
· Be fluent in English.
