Description Job Description The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking a DBAData Analyst with strong systems, software, database, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) Interface and Support Processes division within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States. In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle of a mission critical product including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing. Primary Responsibilities Support all aspects of administration and maintenance of both Oracle and MarkLogic databases, to ensure optimum performance and security of data. Respond promptly to alerts that could negatively impact database performance. Establish interface between multiple Oracle databases and a MarkLogic database to ensure the effective transfer of data from Oracle to MarkLogic. Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology to implement database changes in support of new or updated system capabilities while ensuring no impact to database performance. Provide advice and support related to database design and programming to developers. Coordinate with product technical leads to define long-range requirements for database administration and design. Facilitate activities to implement data governance to improvemaintain data quality ensuring accuracy of data utilized by CBP officers at Ports of Entry. Apply knowledge and experience with both database technologies and development methodologies to perform database programming that supports development of product features. Maintain database artifacts, e.g., ERD and data dictionaries. Collaborate with other team members to identify opportunities to develop automation scripts for managing databases and data in various environments. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other closely related field with a minimum of 8-years of relevant experience or 6-10 years of relevant experience with Master's degree. Applicants must be a with ability to obtain a CBP BI public trust clearance. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large Oracle databases (20-50TB) while ensuring optimum performance, availability and data integrity Experience instantiating and managing a MarkLogic database ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data integrity. Experience establishing and managing the transfer of data from Oracle to MarkLogic to facilitate search capabilities with a MarkLogic database. Experience working with an agile software development environment with proven ability to deliver on commitments. Experience performing Oracle upgrades for extremely large Oracle databases while minimizing outage time. Experience with database configuration, clustering, stored procedures, SQL tuning, performance tuning and scaling strategies. Experience with issueproblem reporting systems such as Jira Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to collaborate effectively with customers and other product team members. Preferred Qualifications Active CBP BI Experience as a database administrator within CBP PSPD Experience managing databases within AWS environment is a plus.
