SummaryThrivent is undergoing a growth transformation and we are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) analyst to work with our corporate leaders on business and strategy performance, forecasting, impact analyses, and analytical efforts.The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for obtaining, developing and analyzing data, proving/disproving hypotheses, and developing insights. This role is expected to exhibit a significant amount of independence in interacting with business leaders and be proactive about opportunities to further analysis that will help the business achieve its goals. You are instrumental in providing insights to corporate leaders to make fact-based decisions. As a senior level individual contributor, you will also mentor BI Analysts on the team.Interviews will begin in January 2021.Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities and Duties Develop plans to evaluate hypothesis/questions, measure performance, and/or produce models and data.Partner with business customers to ensure that the design, execution, presentation, and distribution of actionable insights or data that can be readily implemented.Collaborate with business leaders and process owners to define specific questions and develops plans to deliver meaningful insights.Leads medium to large sized projects and collaborate, train, and mentor BI Analysts.Conduct complex SQL queries and works with data extraction, reporting and analytic tools to validate and develop analysis and reporting.Evaluate/model data utilizing accepted advanced statistical methods.Perform investigations to identify, acquire, enhance and develop new data sources, which will improve the enterprise BI environment.Participate in identification of new ongoing data needs and requirements and champion the establishment of new systems and data in partnership with IT and appropriate business areas.Provide clear, concise, and proactive communication to business leaders, including through presentations.Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in economics, quantitative business analysis, applied mathematics, statistics, management information systems or equivalent experience required.5+ years of experience in financial services, research or analytics.Significant business acumen working with insurance or investment environments.Advanced skill in using analytics tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, SPSS, R, Python).Advanced skill in design and execution of statistical modeling and testing involving linear and non-linear regression techniques.Advanced skill with relational databases, data warehousing, data mining and OLAP.Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Power BI.Ability to work at both a conceptual and detail level with strong statistical data analysis skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.Efficient and effective communications skills with key business partners, tailored to audience needs and expectationsThrivent provides Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) without regard to race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, marital status, citizenship status, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable local, state, or federal law.
