Aniplex of America Inc. (a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan) is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join the Web team located in Santa Monica, CA. A Junior Web Developer works with internal teams such as our marketing and production teams to create and update new websites, webpages and applications.   As a Junior Web Developer you will work under the supervision of manager and leads/senior developers in your department, but you may be involved in all stages of a project, from brainstorming to final launching. While working projects, will work in accordance with company protocols, Sony group policies, and user needs. The ideal candidate must be bilingual speaker (English and Japanese) and have strong skills in reading, writing and communication, as there will be frequent interaction with the web team at the Japanese headquarters.  This role requires 2 days per week onsite in our Santa Monica office. 

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the department manager and department leads, the Jr. Web Developer will perform the following duties:

• Develop and maintain websites using basic web design and web coding knowledge Update and edit website content, posts, pages, to include the creation of new websites as necessary.
• Assist with graphic design work such as creating web banners and web assets Perform usability testing
• Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems
• Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams.
• Analyze website technology to identify new techniques and ensure optimal site design
• Any additional tasks as required by the department manager 

Qualifications 

• Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the USA
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields
• A minimum of 1 year of website creation experience Write custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript for existing websites and applications 
• In-depth knowledge of languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and JSON
• Experience customizing websites using CMS
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud such as design software including Photoshop, Illustrator 
• Be able to work under pressure of heavy workloads and tight deadlines 
• Must be a team player
• Be self-motivated, self-starter, confident, energetic and creative
• Basic reading and writing in Japanese is required
