Accounts Manager


Local construction company seeks on-site accounts role to connect the external finance team to the project and management teams in house!

This role is open to applicants who are available for Full or Part time on-site employment from mid January 2024. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and passionate on-site Accounts professional to join our Sydney Head Office team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will coordinate the local finance requirements of the business with a team of off site bookkeepers and accountants. This role is relevant to individuals who are strong communicators, exceptional team influencers, highly motivated by accuracy and timeliness. 

Beyond the day to day working relationship with the Managing Director and off-site finance team, this role will also work closely with the project teams, to ensure timely and accurate procurement while maintaining the accuracy standards critical to the finance team. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • You will review all accounts payable and receivable elements before they are due, ensuring the successful completion of business and project accounts within budget and timeline. 
  • Ensure budgets and project cashflow are always on track, with a frictionless delivery of accounts payable and receivable targets through the Finance team
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for project completion and ensure purchase orders are finalised with suppliers and our finance team accurately and efficiently 
  • Conduct daily project and finance team check-ins to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and provide technical guidance. Resolve any project-related  account issues in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to weekly and monthly management reporting requirements regarding procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain delivery
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reporting, document storage, and deadlines management

 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong background in a similar role, specifically:

  • Proven success Bookkeeper or Accounts Admin in the Australian construction or manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Proficient in using project management and finance software (in particular Xero), along with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Fantastic stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • A degree or other qualification in finance or a related field
