Your new role as Senior Statistician / Analyst will be in the Statistical Collection, Evaluation and Analysis (SCEA) group within QGSO.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

• Lead project teams and apply statistical survey skills to manage and conduct processes including:

- Frame and sample preparation.

- Cleaning and processing survey responses and other structured and unstructured data.

- Data processing, analysis and reporting.

• Prepare detailed project proposals, plans or agreements for the provision of statistical or program evaluation services.

• Provide high level statistical advice, information and support to clients and senior officers, exercising judgement to coordinate the management of client requirements and competing work priorities.

• Ensure outputs satisfy office standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness based on quality principles and methodologies.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

• A high level of proficiency in processing and analysing data. For statistical processing and analysis, QGSO use the software application “R”.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• An understanding of official statistics including standards and classifications.

• Ability to work with project teams comprising statisticians, analysts, project managers and report writers.

• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing work priorities with tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
