Role Description

The Developer Programmer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and documenting program code in accordance with user requirements and system and technical specifications. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to improve and support existing and new systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research, consult, analyse, and evaluate system and application program requirements
2. Identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems, processes, and procedures
3. Design, write, test, debug, diagnose, and correct errors and faults in application programs in line with established testing protocols and quality standards
4. Develop and maintain program code to meet system requirements, system designs, and technical specifications
5. Write, update, and maintain technical documentation, end-user documentation, and operational procedures
6. Provide expert advice and guidance on software design activities, including financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and system upgrades

Skills and Experience

1. Proven experience as a Developer Programmer or similar role
2. Strong knowledge of application programming languages and software development methodologies
3. Experience in system analysis, testing, debugging, and documentation
4. Ability to identify and resolve system performance and design issues
5. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
