We are currently seeking an experienced GIS Analyst for a full-time, ongoing position based in Melbourne, VIC.
Main Tasks:
· Undertake GIS work, with a primary focus on map preparation and cartographic outputs.
· Perform GIS data manipulation, analysis and interpretation, including aerial and satellite imagery.
· Prepare field templates and support mobile GIS applications for field data collection.
· Contribute to the maintenance and ongoing development of the company’s GIS systems and spatial databases.
· Support the development and improvement of GIS and related technology tools to enhance service delivery.
· Save, manage and store spatial data in a structured and systematic manner.
· Provide technical GIS support to internal teams and respond to GIS-related queries.
· Assist with remote field support for GPS and mobile data collection systems.
· Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in GIS, Geoscience or a related discipline; and
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
· Proficiency in industry-standard GIS software, including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap 10.8 / ArcPro).
· Experience with ArcGIS Online with its applications suite, Field Maps Designer and application.
· Experience with GPS technologies (ArcPad10.2 and others) and mobile GIS applications for data acquisition.
· Experience with spatial data analysis, interpolation techniques (including Ordinary Kriging), DEM interpretation and satellite imagery analysis.
· Strong understanding of spatial data management, cartography and high-quality map design.
Annual salary will be between $85,000.00 to $95,000 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
