Responsibilities Perspecta has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oracle DB System Administrator professional with large-scale program experience to support a program for the United States Army Corps of Engineers USACE) as an Oracle DB SYS ADMIN on a contract under which Perspecta will provide enterprise IT operations support. General Responsibilities Implements and optimizes the database systems that support the clientaposs ability to function on a daily basis. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements andor improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication. Administers and maintains classified Oracle and Sybase databases supporting National Military Command Center decision-makers. Provides technicalmanagement leadership on major technical projects, to include modernization of Solaris UNIX and Windows platformsPossessesand applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. SME with experience with Oracle, Solaris Unix, Red Hat Linux, MS Windows, Oracle BR, and VMware. Has domain and expert technical knowledge with respect to database management and administration May direct activities of others. Windows Support maintenance of hardware related systems and auxiliary equipment related to all Windows 20132016, Active Directory, and virtualization services for both server and client environments. Red Hat Solaris UNIX Support maintenance of hardware related systems and auxiliary equipment related to all Oracle Sun Solaris Unix version 10 and Red Hat services for server environments. Qualifications Requires 2 to 5 years with BSBA or 0 to 2 years with MSMAMBA or 8 to 10 years with no degree.
