We are currently sourcing for a Principal Cloud Database Administrator to work in Fidelity's Enterprise Cloud Computing group in Durham, NC.The TeamFidelity is seeking Cloud DBA that will work on the Cloud Data Services team and provide administration and migration support for Gemfire, Oracle, Golden Gate, and Postgres databases: designs, implementations, administration, troubleshooting, management, performance tuning, maintenance, and support for critical cloud applications deployed in the AWS cloud.The cloud database admin will coordinate and work multi-functionally with architects, developers, security, operations, and database engineering teams to ensure that applications make efficient and appropriate usage of memory, compute, and capacity resources and are following required Fidelity operational and security policies.The Expertise We're Looking For* Bachelor's degree, Master's degree a plus* 7+ years of enterprise level experience in database design, development, deployment, and administration* In-depth understanding of application deployment and cloud database management systems usage patterns* In-depth design, implementation, and administration of relational database systems.* Expertise in supporting n-tiered applications, built with in-memory and relational databases* Expertise with identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks with in-memory and relational databases* Expertise with Gemfire, Oracle, Golden Gate, and Postgres migrations, administration, tuning and management* Experienced with the administration of in-memory, NoSQL, big data, and relational database technologies* Experienced in coding POCs with different technologies (application, middleware, database, infrastructure)* Experienced in Java, Spring, Curl, Python, Bash and Open Source tech stack* Experienced in CI/CD tools like Pivotal Concourse, Jenkins and Udeploy* Experienced with cloud technology, services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DBaaS), and the AWS cloud platform* Knowledge of 12-factor cloud principles, API/ARB documents, processes, and deployment patterns/strategies* Certifications in; Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Cloudera, AWS, and Azure a plusResponsibilities* Code test harnesses for performance and scalability testing; run tests, resolve, monitor, and automate.* Code prototypes for proof of concept and lab validations database capabilities.* Collaborate with the cloud database architects, developers, administrators, and engineers on best practices for the design and implementation of Gemfire, Oracle, Golden Gate, and Postgres databases in support of cloud applications.* Build strong relationship with cloud database development teams to ensure alignment and automation adoption.* Facilitate Gemfire, Oracle, Golden Gate, and Postgres implementations with standard policies and design patterns.* Participate in the planning, definition, design, and integration of Gemfire, Oracle, Golden Gate, and Postgres usage patterns with the business unit database developers to ensure consistency of product development and adoption.* Participate in critical database automation problem solving and sophisticated technical troubleshooting to assist the organization; drive resolution of technical issues; lead and perform impact analysis.* Code and chip in to the automation of cloud services for use in AWS* Coach and mentor cloud database technical resources across the community.Why Fidelity?* A company that is committed to innovation and being an industry leader by investing in technology.* More than 12,000 technology professionals utilizing an Agile methodology enterprise-wide.* Access to top-tier technology platforms, OS, and frameworks.* Meaningful positions and numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth.* Competitive pay and benefits package that includes bonus, health insurance, pension, life assurance and a variety of work/life programs.Company OverviewAt Fidelity, we are passionate about making our financial expertise broadly accessible and effective in helping people live the lives they want.
