Job DetailsJob LocationBridgeport, CT - Bridgeport, CTPosition TypeFull TimeDescriptionReporting to the Senior Datatel Analyst, the Database Specialist is primarily responsible for providing maintenance, technical support and expertise in database integrations across the university in maintaining ERP systems such as Ellucian Suite of Products, Canvas, Higherone, Ellucian portal ( Share Point), BBA Book Store Solutions, NEO Track and other Databases that serve the University Community.S/he will be providing analysis in systems integration, defines, develops and assists in envison/unibasic programming, provides reports, training and documentation as needed.Primary Duties:• Work as primary person responsible for all Database Integration Projects• Provide expertise and maintain Datatel tools, such as Listeners, SA Valet, Repository, software extractions and installs, Custom Impact Reports, Account Management Scripts, Unibasic Programs• Provide technical Assistance in Understanding/Troubleshooting Ellucian suite of products• Assist in the set-up of database parameters, provide test scripts and monitor results• Assist in preparing departmental procedural documentation, technical knowledge documentation and provide end user training as needed• Ensure effective testing and implementation of system updatesQualificationsMinimum two years prior experience working as Ellucian Programmer/Database Administrator/SystemsAdministrator.• Prior experience within an institution of higher education.• Strong communication, analytical and documentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.• Candidate must be customer service oriented and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.• Prior experience with Ellucian suite of productsAdditional Requirements:• Some evening and weekend work is required.NOTE: The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the IT Database Specialist.
